Innovation in Health & Safety Award

This award celebrates organisations that have pioneered or implemented groundbreaking health and safety solutions within their own operations. It recognises organisations that have developed or applied innovative technologies, processes, or approaches that significantly improve safety outcomes, reduce risks, and address complex health and safety challenges in the workplace. The winning innovation should showcase creativity, effectiveness, and a meaningful impact on employee well-being and the organisation’s overall safety culture. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying attention to the criteria listed below.

• Innovation Overview and Objectives: Provide a brief description of the innovation, including its main features and specific objectives, the safety challenges it addresses, and how it supports your organisation’s overall health and safety aims.
• Uniqueness and Creativity: Explain what makes the innovation unique in addressing safety challenges and how it overcomes traditional barriers or introduces new methodologies for better outcomes.
• Staff Engagement and Collaboration: Outline how staff contributed from development to execution, including any staff training and feedback which helped integrate the innovation into daily practices.
• Implementation Process: Outline the key steps, timelines, and resources involved in implementing the innovation. Mention any adaptations made to address challenges during the implementation.
• Monitoring and Measuring Impact: Describe how success is tracked, providing specific metrics and examples of improvements in safety outcomes and employee well-being, as well as plans for sustaining and expanding the innovation’s impact over time.
