This award recognises organisations that have made a significant and lasting impact on workplace safety through a comprehensive, sustained culture shift. It celebrates initiatives that have changed attitudes, behaviours, and practices related to safety, leading to measurable improvements in safety performance, risk management, and employee engagement. The winning organisation will demonstrate leadership, innovation, and commitment to fostering a proactive, resilient safety culture that prioritises employee wellbeing and actively reduces workplace hazards. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying attention to the criteria listed below.
- Organisation Background: Briefly describe the organisation’s size, industry, and safety practices before the transformation.
- Transformation Background: Outline the motivation, specific safety challenges, and objectives for initiating a culture shift.
- Key Milestones & Implementation: Summarise each stage of the safety culture transformation, including key actions, milestones, and challenges faced. Highlight the main activities and resources used to drive progress.
- Commitment & Leadership: Describe leadership’s role in fostering and sustaining the shift, focusing on specific ongoing actions taken by leaders to embed the new culture.
- Innovation & Creativity: Showcase any unique solutions, technologies, or methods that facilitated the cultural shift, emphasising what sets the approach apart.
- Monitoring System & Measurable Impact: Explain how the success of the transformation is tracked and provide specific, measurable evidence of the cultural shift’s impact.
