US labour and employment law firm Fisher Phillips has welcomed Jamie Spataro as partner in its Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to a firm announcement.

With over two decades of experience in workplace safety and health law, Jamie offers extensive knowledge in OSHA compliance, inspections, accident response, citation defence and regulatory advocacy.

His arrival addresses growing business need for expanded environmental and transportation safety solutions, both critical priorities for Fisher Phillips' global client base. Jamie joins following John Surma, a prominent workplace safety partner who recently joined in Houston.

Kristin White and Todd Logsdon, Co-Chairs of Fisher Phillips' Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice, said: "Jamie's arrival reflects our continued commitment to meeting growing client demand for comprehensive workplace safety and environmental risk management solutions. As our environmental compliance services expand from our established OSHA practice, Jamie brings skills that add immediate value and strengthen our ability to serve clients at scale."

They added: "His focus on sustainability and infectious disease defense is particularly important as employers navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscape."

Previously, Jamie was Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Occupational Safety and Health Practice Group at an AmLaw 100 firm and spent almost 15 years in a senior in-house role at a global logistics and transportation company managing workplace and transportation safety, infectious disease protocols, hazardous materials, sustainability and TSA compliance initiatives.

Brian Balonick, Regional Managing Partner of the firm's Pittsburgh office, said: "Since opening our Pittsburgh office in 2019, we've seen steady growth, with particularly strong demand from local and regional clients for workplace safety and catastrophe management services. Jamie's addition reflects a strategic investment in strengthening our capabilities in Pittsburgh."
