Fortis Fire & Safety, a Chicago-based provider of commercial fire and life safety services, has acquired LaMarco Systems, a specialist in fire alarms, access control, and smart building solutions, according to citybiz.
The acquisition gives Fortis a strategic entry into the Midwest and enhances its mission-critical safety offerings.
LaMarco, headquartered in Northbrook, has built more than 28 years of experience delivering comprehensive fire and life safety solutions to commercial clients. Its technical expertise and customer-focused culture align with Fortis’ long-term growth strategy.
Gyner Ozgul, CEO of Fortis, said: “LaMarco has built a strong technical bench and a reputation for delivering real value to their customers. As we grow, it’s important that companies like LaMarco continue to preserve the local culture and relationships that define their success.”
LaMarco will continue operations from its Northbrook office, ensuring service continuity while gaining access to Fortis’ broader operational resources and multi-regional platform. Marat Sedenkov, Founder and President of LaMarco, added: “This partnership allows us to expand our capabilities while continuing to serve our customers with the same dedication and responsiveness they expect.”
The acquisition advances Fortis’ strategy of creating a unified, multi-regional platform in the fire and life safety industry. Together, the companies will provide an expanded suite of services, including traditional life safety systems, advanced security solutions, and emerging smart building technologies.
Fortis operates across California, Florida, Illinois, and North Carolina and was founded in 2021 to consolidate leading fire and life safety operators under a national platform.
