Ireland-based fleet safety technology company CameraMatics has secured €49m in investment to support international expansion and continued development of its AI-enabled transport safety platform, reflecting growing demand for technologies that improve operational safety and fleet performance.

The funding round was led by Blume Equity and included participation from the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and Goodbody Capital Partners on behalf of AIB. The company stated that the capital will support further product innovation and scaling activity across existing and new markets.

Founded in 2016 through SETU Xcelerate, CameraMatics develops technology that combines AI-powered video intelligence, advanced driver assistance systems and real-time operational analytics to support commercial fleet operators. Its platform is designed to help organisations strengthen driver safety, improve visibility across vehicle operations and reduce exposure to operational risk.

The investment comes as transport and logistics operators continue to place greater emphasis on workplace safety, compliance and data-driven decision-making. Fleet safety technologies are increasingly being adopted to support proactive incident prevention, improve driving behaviour and generate operational insights that strengthen business performance.

CameraMatics currently employs more than 150 people across Europe and the United States and has expanded steadily in recent years through investment and acquisition activity. The company acquired UK telematics business Telematicus in 2022 and has continued to broaden its technology capabilities in response to changing transport and mobility requirements.

The announcement also highlights the role of Ireland’s innovation ecosystem in supporting the development of safety-focused technology businesses with international growth ambitions. University-linked incubators and investment support continue to contribute to the commercialisation and scaling of emerging technology firms.

For health and safety professionals, the investment signals continued momentum behind technologies that integrate operational intelligence with workplace risk reduction and driver protection across commercial fleet environments.
