Minister urges dairy farmers to address burnout and sleep issues

Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae has encouraged dairy farmers to focus on improving their work-life balance, citing research showing high levels of burnout (24%) and sleep problems (50%). The findings, presented at Teagasc’s Moorepark Dairy Open Day, were based on a DCU-Teagasc study. Experts stressed the links between overwork, injury risk, and poor mental health. The event also promoted health and safety guidance for farmers.
