US health system Northwell Health has signed a new strategic alliance focused on accelerating the commercialisation and scaling of Irish life sciences and health technology companies in the United States, building on a partnership first established in 2016.

According to the Business Post, the agreement provides Irish companies with direct access to Northwell's clinical experts across its network of 28 hospitals and more than 1,000 outpatient facilities.

Northwell Health is one of the largest health systems in the United States, operating an extensive clinical network that spans hospital, outpatient and specialist care settings.

The renewed alliance is designed to give Irish life sciences and health tech firms privileged access to that network, supporting both clinical validation and commercial growth in one of the world's most significant healthcare markets.

The signing took place in New York and represents a deepening of a relationship that has been in place for a decade, with the updated agreement expected to create new pathways for Irish companies seeking to enter or expand within the US market.

The deal reflects growing international interest in Irish health technology innovation and the strategic value placed on access to large-scale US clinical infrastructure for companies at commercialisation stage.

Northwell Health's network provides a substantial testing and deployment environment for emerging health technologies, giving partnered companies exposure to a broad and diverse patient population across its facilities.

The alliance is expected to open further opportunities for Irish health tech and life sciences firms to validate, scale and ultimately commercialise their products within the US healthcare system.
