UL Solutions has strengthened its collaboration with GCC Technical Services Company (TS Co.) to expand fire safety testing and certification capabilities across the Gulf region. The partnership integrates TS Co.’s Dammam facility into the UL Witness Test Data Program (WTDP), allowing local testing under UL supervision.

Through this arrangement, manufacturers can complete fire safety tests within Saudi Arabia rather than shipping samples abroad, significantly cutting certification timelines and costs. Once tests are complete, UL Solutions reviews the results and grants certification for compliant products bearing the UL Mark.

According to Patrick Abgrall, Director and Regional General Manager of UL Solutions’ Built Environment group, the expanded collaboration enhances access to reliable fire safety assessments across the region. It supports national projects and ensures that building materials used in major Gulf developments meet global safety benchmarks.

TS Co. CEO Khalaf Masaeed noted that combining UL Solutions’ global safety expertise with TS Co.’s local knowledge delivers strong value to regional manufacturers, particularly those serving Saudi Arabia’s multibillion-dollar construction market. The partnership also underpins Vision 2030 initiatives such as NEOM, Red Sea, and the New Murabba development, all of which require rigorous fire safety compliance.

For manufacturers, contractors, and fire engineers, this development simplifies certification, shortens market entry time, and ensures consistent quality control within the Kingdom’s fast-growing industrial and construction sectors.
