Irish engineering services group WH Scott has completed acquisition of Pontyclun-based Workplace Inspection Services Ltd, according to Business News Wales. Founded in 2011, Workplace Inspection Services offers engineering inspections to ensure compliance with key health and safety regulations across the UK.
Workplace Inspection Services was founded by Huw Davies with the vision of creating an independent and reliable inspection provider, with services including LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and COSHH inspections. The company will become part of the Metlab business unit and marks the first Metlab expansion into Great Britain.
Metlab was founded in 1982 in Ireland, where they are leading experts in independent inspection, non-destructive testing, construction material testing and certification. Metlab is accredited by The Irish National Accreditation Board to ISO 17024, ISO 17020 and ISO 17025, and also holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Metlab joined the WH Scott Group in 2023, and Workplace Inspection Services is the eighth acquisition into the WH Scott Group's growing portfolio of specialist engineering and testing companies. The acquisition enhances Metlab's and WH Scott Group's capabilities by expanding its service offering, client base and operational expertise.
Patrick Doyle, CEO of the WH Scott Group, said: "Over the last 15 years, Huw and his team have built Workplace Inspection Services Ltd into the impressive company we see today. We welcome them into the WH Scott Group, and we look forward to working with them to build on their success."
Huw Davies said: "I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a team. I firmly believe that joining the WH Scott Group is the right next step for the business, our customers, and our employees. Their values and vision align closely with our own."
