GS Power, a subsidiary of South Korea’s GS Group, is offering its self-developed AI safety management agent, AI Risk Assessment (AIR), free of charge to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The initiative aims to improve industrial safety standards and share GS Group’s AI transformation experience with workplaces that have been slower to adopt AI technology.
“AIR is an AI agent developed based on real on-site needs identified by field staff themselves,” a GS Group official said. “Through this initiative, we hope SMEs can experience the benefits of AI-driven safety management firsthand and... meaningfully help close safety gaps across worksites.”
The AI agent integrates into job risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, risk levels, and preventive safety measures. When a user enters a task name and description, generative AI derives the work process and analyses associated risks. Developed during a 2024 groupwide hackathon by five GS Power employees, AIR was built without coding using the GS Group AX platform, MISO.
Since August 2025, AIR has been implemented internally, reducing manual risk assessment time to approximately three minutes while standardising evaluation quality. This has allowed staff to focus more on field inspections and proactive safety measures.
GS Power has also applied AIR in sites with weaker safety management capabilities, providing consulting to support safer workplaces. The company earned a ministerial award from the Ministry of Employment and Labor for its role in promoting a safety-oriented workplace culture.
“GS will continue to enhance Korea’s industrial competitiveness and safety standards through its accumulated AX experience and expertise,” the official added. Future plans include workshops and informational sessions in partnership with the ministry to help SMEs adopt AI-based safety management.
