Swedish medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra has contracted to deliver its fully managed cloud imaging service, Sectra One Cloud, to six NHS Trusts in north central London in a deal worth £15.6 million, according to the company.
The six Trusts, operating under the collaborative initiative ImageWise, will consolidate seven separate systems into a single shared cloud environment. Four of the six already use Sectra's solution, and together they provide care to approximately 1.4 million people.
Under the arrangement, Sectra assumes full responsibility for system operation, maintenance, support, continuous monitoring, optimisation and upgrades, reducing operational risk and supporting high availability across the network.
The Trusts will initially deploy modules for radiology and breast imaging, with the option to expand into additional specialties as requirements develop.
"When multiple hospital Trusts move together into a shared cloud environment, it strengthens regional resilience and supports secure collaboration across organisational boundaries, helping improve patient care across London," said Jane Rendall, Managing Director for Sectra UK and Ireland.
The five-year contract was signed in the third quarter of Sectra's 2025/2026 fiscal year, with the total value of £15.6 million fully guaranteed.
Cybersecurity remains a pressing concern across NHS infrastructure. The 2024 ransomware attack on NHS supplier Synnovis disrupted blood transfusion services across multiple London hospitals, highlighting the operational risk of fragmented imaging environments.
